I don't like my countertops.
They're the color of brick.
Nothing against brick colored countertops IN GENERAL, just not my style.
So, rather than redo my countertops I've decided to paint them.
That's right, PAINT my countertops.
Don't worry, I'm not crazy, they make countertop paint now!
It has some sort of special fantasticness that let's it stick to linoleum countertops AND has special anti-mold, anti-mildew, moisture resistant, etc etc.
In short, it's fancy shit.
Here are the brick colored countertops before:
And the corner behind the microwave which I have chosen to do the test:
And after a little paint:
And after a little more paint with what I THINK I would like the wall color to be (the bottom color) and the cabinet color to be (the top color):
What do you think? Good combo? Too french country, not enough country cottage?
You are a brave soul. I have never painted countertops before. Rain in Oregon, shocking ;) Yesterday in Vancouver we had beautiful sun, should of known it would only last a day, back to rain. At least it is well above freezing so painting projects dry properly.
ReplyDeleteYou have moved around a lot as well. We are back in Vancouver, Canada after living in a Wasinghton DC suburb in Virginia for a few years. Miss it dreadfully, sniff...
Just found your blog and love it! I see we have a mutual friend (hey Barb!). I am intrigued by your colours. Post a close up and I'll be happy to chime in. Love the countertop colour and I love the wall colour. Not sure about the cabinet. Can't see it well enough. Carol
